What is the biggest landscape print you have had made, 20x30 etc? What kind of camera do you use for landscape

Believe it or not, it was 40 x 14 feet! A billboard.

I won a competition sponsored by an outdoor advertising co. back in 1992 or 93 ... when they had just gotten the digital technology to be able to produce true photographic quality on a billboard.

My original shot was made on Velvia, with a Pentax K 1000 and a 50mm lens.

Recently? A 30x40 printed on an Epson 9600. Shot with a Nikon D100 (6.1 MP) and a Nikkor 28-105.

I have made 102%26quot; x 48%26quot;

Actually, you can print longer than that but you will pay the price.

Use a wide angle lens for landscaping or a fish eye to give a certain effect to it.

I use many cameras but the Nikon D3 is pretty good.

I do a 20x30 about once every other month, but that%26#039;s about the biggest I%26#039;ve ever needed to or dared.

Generally, for prints that size, I use my Rolleiflex and either Velvia 50 or Provia 100F. I then scan the film at 4800x4800, and print it digitally.

I once had a real honest-to-goodness optical Cibachrome, which was truly amazing but also expensive. A well-done digital print on Fuji Crystal Archive or the like is about 90% as good for a fraction of the cost, so that%26#039;s generally the route I take.
